VISIT TO AN ART GALLERY : KHODIDAS PARMAR ART GALLERY



               An exhibition of Ajanta painting was organised at KHODIDAS ART GALLERY IN BHAVNAGAR. Last weekend 25th and 26th September in bhavnager people visit the art exhibition and enjoy it. ' To have an art. gallery in town or city is the big and important thing.' 

               The art gallery make arrangement same way as the pictures were seen in the caves of Ajanta with lamps! The painters put their paintings in the exhibition and try to give life of ajanta's painting. The guests and visiters felt like they were in the cave of Ajanta.

                  The opening ceremony was held at the beginning of the exhibition. The special feature was that the opening ceremony was held in this art gallery with a candle in hand to show the pictures to the guests so that people can see the paintings in the same way as they do in the cave of Anjata. The caves of Ajanta are very famous all over India for their paintings.art lovers come from all over the country to see them. The pictures are just as fresh today, and the subject matter attracts people.

WHO WAS KHODIDAS PARMAR :
                  Khodidas Parmar was born on July 31, 1930 and was the only son of a poor Karadia Rajput family. He was named after the goddess Khodiyar as the family thought of him being a gift from the goddess after many daughters.

AJANTA CAVES : 

 
         
                     Ajanta is located 107 kilometers from Aurangabad and 60 kilometers from Jalgaon. A cluster of 32 Buddhist caves not far from a medieval village of the same name, the site is a protected monument in the care of the Archaeological Survey of India.Moreover, since 1983, the Ajanta Caves have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The thirty rock-hewn caves at Ajanta, cut into the scarp of a cliff are either Chaityas (chapels) or Viharas (monasteries).

                     On the walls of the caves are paintings, many still glowing with their original colours. The outer walls are covered with brilliantly executed sculpture. The Buddhist theme of the Ajanta paintings recounts the life of Lord Buddha and tales of his previous earthly experiences.

                   Ben Jonson (1572- 1637) was an early modern playwright whose popularity rivalad that of Shakespeare and Christopher marlove . Full name of Ben Jonson was Benjamin Jonson. He was playwright and poet, whose artistry exerted a lasting impact on english poetry and stage comedy.

                 Ben jonson was born at london (England) ben Jonson never knew his father a Minister, who had 2 months before he was born. Har mother remarried early in his childhood. His stepfather was a bricklayer named Robert breff. Johnson was educated briefly at Westminster school where he was introduced to the humanities culture which dominated English thought at the time. Jonson said later that he was "taken from" his education and "put to another craft" which was likely an apprenticeship of some discription , followed by a short spell as a solider at war in the Netherlands. 

                   He was best known for the satirical plays. And he was also known for his lyric and epigrammic poetry. it is said that, " He is generally regarded as the second most important English dramatist after William Shakespeare."

                   Comedy of humerus form of drama first introduced by Ben Johnson. He was the first dramatist who convinced and a popularize this dramatic genere during the late 16th century.

                 The term of a comedy of humours generally used to show unbalanced characters. the term derives from latin word humour or umer. which means "liquid". when we read any work of Ben jonson we find he was follow the theme of a comedy of humours. he was used to follow the medival and Renaissance medical theory. according that medical theory human body held a balance of a four liquids aur humours. according to this medical theory the four liquids namely blood, phlegm, yellow bile, black bile how balance to each other in anyone's body that person caller healthy. excess of any one of these fluids have effects on humans: 
1.Blood - excessively optimistic
2. Phlegm - excessive calm 
3. Yellow bile/cholar - ill tempered
4. Black bile - melancholy
